Saori - Ballerina

Photographing the gorgeous and talented Saori was an absolute dream come true! She is a principal dancer with The State Street Ballet here in Santa Barbara, California. I was lucky enough to see her dance in their production of the Nutcracker as the “Snow Queen” and “Arabian Dancer” (two of the most challenging parts!). What an absolute sight to behold! Her talent and grace literally blew me away, I simply could not take my eyes off of her.

Saori is from Japan and it was important for her to honor her heritage in this photo session. She worked with a very skilled local designer, Georganne Alex, who created the kimono pieces using antique kimono to create something beautiful and unique. It was my honor to capture this powerful display of talent, beauty, pride, and love.
